I am a female veteran who, after years of trying to make my way in the world, decided to, finally, do what I love. I remember writing poems as a child (some were even published) and growing up thinking I would one day be a writer. In college, my dream was to be a travel writer so that I could marry the two things I loved together. BUT, life rarely happens the way we plan. Instead, I worked in customer service, joined the military, and even decided to pursue a different career in historic preservation. Though all that took years, and I now have a BA and an MA I haven't used, I am finally able to do what I love— writing. I have a wonderful husband who supports my crazy life choices and the best dog in the world, Max, who likes to distract me from writing more often than not.
